155th Anniversary Drill Competition

On Sunday July 5th members of the Fox Lake Historical Society, the Citizens Guard Civil War reenactment group, and Mess #3 reenactment group will be presenting a 155th Anniversary Drill Competition Living History from 1-4 PM at the Fox Lake Historical Society Museum grounds.

Come see the food, uniforms, and drill of the recreated Citizens Guard Militia which was originally formed in February of 1860. On July 4th of 1860 the following local militia units came together for a historic drill competition celebrating the 4th of July in Fox Lake: Fox Lake Citizens Guard Capt. Stevens; Waupun Light Guards Capt. Clark; Beaver Dam Artillery Capt. Rowell; Waushara Artillery Capt. Barnes. The Historical Society Museum is located at 211 Cordelia Street, Fox Lake, WI 53933. The Fox Lake Historical Society Museum is open the 1st and 3rd Sunday’s now until – October 5th from 1-4 PM. Please come join us for a great way to conclude a patriotic 4th of July Weekend.
